Mayor's Message
The soft song of crickets on a warm summer evening, the smell of fresh-mown grass in a tree-shaded park, the welcome handshake of a longtime friend, the colorful blur of children on the neighborhood playground. People come to Washington City for hundreds of reasons. They come back for only one, Washington City: Feels Like Home. It is a city of celebration, a place of parades, a year-round home for festivities, foot races and fireworks. And why not? Here, every season brings something new to celebrate. Our matchless climate, in this green oasis amid the stunning red rock, makes Washington City a home for all seasons, a home for life.
This year Washington City will be celebrating its 151st birthday. We invite everyone to enjoy the full schedule of events planned for the week of May 5th-10th and meet this year’s Grand Marshal - Cheryl Rogers Barnett daughter of the late Roy Rogers and Dale Evans as she joins the celebration of her new hometown.
Come and celebrate with us May 5th – 10th and experience for yourselves why Washington City: Feels Like Home.
Terrill Clove
